The Legends of Poker Main Event, a major poker tournament sporting a $5,000 buy-in, had been scheduled for Days 1A and 1B of play. Both of these days are done and gone, and players are gearing up for Day 2.
A total of 462 players had come out to the Legends of Poker event. With Day 1 done, only 241 players remain. Amongst these numbers are some of the biggest names in poker, and the tournament is set to commence once more at 4PM EST.
The largest chip stack in the room belongs to Michael Reyes, owner of 205,350 chips. At the bottom of the charts is Jennifer Tilly, who seems to have taken a brief hiatus from the side of the ATV injured Phil Laak.
Amongst the other contestants are Mike Baxter, Barry Greenstein, Chris Moore, Chris Kassela, Phil Hellmuth, Eric Lindgren, and Allen Cunningham.
Day 2 will set these players against each other once more, going into play with Blinds of 200/400 and an ante of 50 chips. The nine players with less than 10,000 chips will be working hard in order to stay in the games.
Daniel Negreanu had come into the tournament, and went on a solid run until his luck wavered. A large loss came to Negreanu when he dropped to 10,000 chips after being hit by a royal flush. Negreanu ended up going home early, so the four time WSOP bracelet winner will not be taking his third WPT title.
This early in the event it is possible for any player to take the game.
Satellites to the remaining WPT events are operating through many of the USA online poker rooms.
